Yves C. MERMIER was born on 4 July 1959. He obtained his law degree from the University of Geneva (lic. Iur. 1982) and then completed a traineeship in Southampton (England) with DOVETON & FOGATY, Solicitors.

Admitted to the Geneva Bar in 1983, Yves C. MERMIER then completed a legal traineeship with the law firm René MERKT & Partners. He passed the bar exam in 1986 and pursued his career in the same firm as an associate.

In 1993, Yves C. MERMIER partnered with Pierre-Yves MONTAVON to create the law firm MONTAVON & MERMIER.

His main areas of practice are commercial and civil law. One of Yves C. MERMIER’s preferred practice areas is the law of protection of children and adults.
In parallel to his work as an attorney, Yves C. MERMIER was a Deputy Judge of the Court for the Protection of Adults and Children of the Republic and Canton of Geneva from 2011 to 2023.

His working languages are French and English.

Yves C. MERMIER is a member of the Geneva Bar Association and the Swiss Bar Association.
